A sketchbook called It Must Be was contributed to the Fiction Sketchbook Project, run by The Sketchbook Project (formerly the Art House Co-op) based at The Brooklyn Art Library, New York.
I decided from the start to treat the theme as if constructing a children’s picture book in the sketchbook. A simple narrative was written about four seasons seen through the eyes of a child. The sketchbook was rebound in a Coptic style binding using Fabriano Hot Press 90lb paper. Different techniques were used to execute the double-spread illustrations. The text is written in a handwritten script lettering.
